Briefing

ARRIVALS
1.) Your runway assignment ALWAYS comes from your first Denver Approach controller. Denver Center is unable to provide approach information.
2.) If you have filed a STAR into Denver, Denver Center will issue a crossing altitude for the intersection after which the STAR is named. For instance, aircraft who have filed the POWDR7 will be instructed to "Cross POWDR at and maintain FL190 and 250 knots." Pilots should be familiar with their STAR and be able to promptly read back this instruction.
3.) Please MUTE all company voice programs/channels before you talk to Denver Approach. In this highly congested airspace, controllers have no time to repeat instructions. Pilots who are repeatedly asking controllers to "say again" or who repeatedly fail to respond will be contacted by a supervisor.

DEPARTURES
1.) The IFR clearance delivery frequency will be announced in the ATIS.
2.) DO NOT climb above your initial altitude specified in your IFR clearance. Expect to level out at your initial altitude after takeoff in order to pass underneath other arriving traffic.
3.) DO NOT under any circumstances allow your aircraft to turn back towards Denver International Airport or the Denver VORTAC after takeoff. Fly your tower-assigned heading.
4.) Expect to hear the following instruction from Departure Control:
 
•	"Radar contact. Proceed direct ABCDE. Join the XYZ transition."
•	ABCDE = the first intersection on your SID/DP.
•	XYZ = the transition for which you have been cleared in your IFR clearance.
