Pilots,

We have recently updated our Historical program and there is some major changes.

Previously we had just the Boeing 707 program (Stage 5) and upon completion of the Checkride and exams you would be given all of the historical equipment ratings.

The Historical aircraft have now been split into 2 separate programs and the stage's downgraded.

We now have the 707 program (Stage 3) and the DC-3 Program (Stage 3).

There is now separate exams and checkrides for each of the 2 new programs, The Historical Jetliner additional equipment ratings will come with the B707 and the Historical Props additional equipment ratings with the DC-3 program.

Obtaining the Concorde rating will still be done via a help desk ticket but we have also reduced the criteria in which you can get the rating. Whereas previously you needed to be a stage 5 Captain, now you can request the Concorde rating if you are or have previously been a stage 4 or stage 5 captain.

Hi Paul, as you know, I want a 727 rating. May I do the checkride on this aircraft as I am not familiar at all with the 707.

Mark, We have used your CR as a test and the answer is no from now on.

Ideally i would have liked to offer this option whereby you could fly any of the historical jetliners on the 707 CR, but unfortunately as we found out, acars will not recognise it as a CR unless it is flown in a 707.
