It is with a heavy heart that Senior Staff have accepted the resignation from staff duties of ERJ145 Chief Pilot and Flight Academy instructor James Lightbody.

James has been with firstly DVA then AFVA since his early teens and has grown up with the airlines. Since being a virtual pilot he has also managed the great achievement of getting his real word PPL at a young age.

James now has exciting real world career opportunities within the music industry to focus his time and energy on and as such does not have the time to be an AFVA staff member any more.

I would like you all to join Senior Staff in thanking James for his hard work and dedication to the airline over the years and we all wish him well in his real world career, He has not left the airline entirely and will remain as a Senior Captain in the Boeing 777 program flying as and when he has the time.

Stepping into James shoes as ERJ145 Chief Pilot will be Martin Zelikovitz, Martin has done us a great service as Boeing 737 Assistant Chief Pilot over the past months and has proven his dedication and passion for the airline.

As a result of this he was the ideal candidate to step up and take on his first Chief Pilot Tenure in this very important program, well done Martin on a very well deserved promotion.

Once again a huge thank you to James for his services and congratulations Martin on your first Chief Pilot Role!

Paul, staff, and the entire airline - I want to thank you all from the bottom of my heart. As Paul touched on, I literally have grown up within AFVA and I can't thank you guys enough for helping me along the path that made me the person I am today.
My real world career has an exciting future, but regardless of what happens, flight sim (and AFVA) will always be right there!

Martin - congratulations on your promotion and I know you will serve the program very well!
