Air France Virtual Airlines Historical Schedule Update 1 (Jan 2015)

Fellow Pilots.

Over the next 12 months there will be major changes to our Historical Schedules. Over the past few years we have been boosting our Historical Flights which those who have been members for some period has seen those swell to over 3000 flights, majority of the flights come under the Air France Historical Flights (AFH).

As we added more and more flights, flight numbers under the AFH code diminished quickly, and it became necessary for me to fill in gaps to allow more flights to be added.

Following a long discussion which started almost 2 years ago, between the Senior Staff here at AFVA we came to the decision to add the flights under their original operator’s code. Beforehand they were all added under the AFH Code.

Following the decision to add them under their respected operator’s a huge revamp will have to take place.

I am anticipating this to take about 12 months to be complete. It may be completed sooner or slightly later but I have set my timeline for 12 months…

I will do an Update post at the end of each month to keep everyone in the loop on what’s going on.

So, what will be involved in the update? Firstly I have gone through the AFH Section and Identified what is AFH (to stay) and what is not (to be removed).

I will be setting up the historical companies, which some have already been done (Air Afrique Historical, Air Gabon Historical and Air Mauritius Historical).

Currently I am working on TAI- Transport Aériens Intercontinentaux, which merged into UTA, I have 6 TAI Timetables spanning 1952 to 1963, I’ve typed out all flights, and will add them under the TI code. Once I have entered the Schedule, I will go remove the AFH flight which it corresponds to.

This will be done for all flights over all companies. The AFH Schedules will decrease over the year, but fear not, there flights will still be there just under the new Airlines.

I do not envisage many if any new airports to be added as its just schedule update. I will still look at new to be added, but will be as and when I get the chance, when time permits.

So the first update involves TAI’s 1952 Schedules.

Once the revamp is complete. We will see the following Carriers in our Historical Schedule Section under the Air France Airline. The KLM Section will be dealt with later on in the year as time permits, as the schedules are fairly complete.

With an agreement between Brian Hankey CEO Air France Virtual and Delta VA, the Inclusion of the Delta Historical Schedules as well as Northwest Airlines, are also now in our schedules, which I am sure you have all seen. So with all the Historical Flights already in the database and those yet to be added I am probably right in saying we probably have more Historical Flights in our Schedules than Real World Flights Currently Operated.

Anyhow.

Next Update will be end of February.
