As you may be aware, I recently accepted the resignation of Paul Hale from his position as EVP Operations. Fabien and I opened a candidate search to the whole airline so as to possibly find that diamond in the rough, it was determined that the best candidate for the position was already a member of staff. Silvian Baltac has graciously accepted to step up to fill the really big shoes left behind by Paul. In return, Paul will remain with the staff as a CP of the A330 program.

Please join me in welcoming Silvian to the Senior Staff.

Well not that big. Just make sure you have the carpet cleaned. Paul was not that tidy. All I ask is you keep your private fridge (yep no need restroom it in the crew rest area now) with Diet Coke with Cherry for when I come for the historical meetings. Do that and you will be fine.
